What began as a moment of curiosity,

Pressing a single Japanese maple branch...

Became a meditation on perception, rhythm, and transformation.

The leaves, at first glance, look mischievously familiar.
It’s Just Maple is an ode to balance, to the space between order and distortion, stillness and motion, nature and the digital. Each leaf was pressed, scanned, and preserved in its true colour; nothing added, nothing taken. A quiet collaboration between human and nature, art and accident

Inspired by the Japanese philosophies of Wabi-sabi (the beauty of imperfection) and ma (the pause between things), this series honours both the organic and the intangible. It is a study in presence- how even the smallest fragment of nature can hold an entire world when seen clearly.

"It's just maple: The collectors six" Limited edition - Oldleafdesigns

Four core works: Kyoto, Tokyo, Kumano-Nachi, and Kitsune -

Trace a meditative arc through rhythm, reflection, flow, and quiet transformation. The expanded Collector’s 6 completes the sequence, with mirrored compositions that bring harmony and balance to the whole. In the end, perhaps that’s the lesson: it may look like something else, it may even stir a little mischief... but beneath it all, it’s just maple.
